We had a booth at the LMT Lab Day tradeshow in Chicago, we released several new programs including Refer A Lab, and we added lots of new content to our website including the new Sales Rep Helper Tool. Read on for some of the highlights from the past year at Garreco.
Introduced Dynasty Hi-Impact Dental Acrylic
Our newest denture base material, Dynasty™ Hi-Impact Pour Type achieves high strength and high impact resistance from a self-cure formulation, achieving a fracture toughness 35% greater than conventional self-cure denture base polymers. This new self-cure material allows dental labs to cope with high production while keeping energy costs and labor to a minimum by avoiding the equipment, increased labor, energy use and cure times associated with heat cured materials.
Garreco donates to help UMMC Dental Mission Week in Mississippi
Dr. David Felton assists third-year dental student Christina McRea with creating a set of dentures / SOURCE
In February, the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry hosted UMMC Dental Mission Week in combination with Give Kids A Smile Day. This resulted in a full week of service learning for the students who attend the school, who provided free dental treatment for underserved adults and children in the area. The Give Kids A Smile Day program will was extended to include Mississippi Boys and Girls Clubs after-school care, which allowed a full day for providing care to children. This event helped to raise awareness about issues related to access to dental care for the underserved in Mississippi and to provide dental care to this population.
Garreco Dental was happy to help the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry by donating Labstone, Flask It, Fastone, Mounting Stone, Resilience, and Silaform 70 to help make dentures for the underserved community during this wonderful event. Our Research and Developmental Chemist, Ben Steckling also attended the event, assisting patients to their appointments and also to provide some hands-on help to the students making dentures.

This Type III Gypsum Base Stone is made with high-quality raw materials but is being offered at a more affordable price to under-served markets. We currently have distributors importing this new dental stone in Nicaragua and plan to expand it globally in developing areas.

The Garreco Dental Team along with the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Members
On Wednesday, July 12, Garreco held a Ribbon Cutting event with our local Chamber to commemorate joining the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce. We had a great turn out — Chamber Ambassadors, along with many community members including Mayor Jimmy Clark came out to help us celebrate. After the ceremony, we had a reception with lunch and refreshments and offered tours of our manufacturing facility to our guests.
Launched Refer A Lab Program
In August, we were excited to announce our new referral program. When a dental lab requests your advice in finding new products, Garreco Dental appreciates your recommendation. Refer another Dental Lab to Garreco and we’ll reward you both with $150 each if your referral invests $1,500 or more in Garreco products within 3 months.
Launched Distentegrating Mold Material (DMM)
Garreco is excited to announce a new product in the aircraft and plastics industries for the formation of mandrels and cores for the production of plastic duct work, filament winding, weldments and other similar parts. The Disintegrating Mold Material (DMM) disintegrates easily upon introduction into the disintegrating solution to a lesser degree in plain water. It has the ability to withstand rapid heating or cooling without cracking or breaking due to its very low thermal expansion or contraction in the temperature range of 0 to 600°F. Because of its extremely low-setting expansion, the problem of removal from dies is minimized.
New Catalog Launch
This past year we released our new product catalog! Our new catalog is completely redesigned and super easy to navigate. It features expanded product information and gives you all of the tools you need to help you find the right product for your dental laboratory or dental office. If you don’t have a copy yet, download it now!

Thanks for reading the Garreco Year in Review 2017! We’ve had a great year and wouldn’t be where we are today without the overwhelming support of our dealer network and customers across the globe. In addition, for over 29 years, our valued employees have worked hard to manufacture the highest quality gypsum products and other dental lab supplies. This next November in 2018 will mark the 30th year that Garreco has been operating and we are excited to celebrate that amazing achievement! To our employees, dealers, and customers, thank you for all of your support. We look forward to the exciting things that 2018 will bring!
